Meet the cutest "Brown Eyed Girl"...

Miss Mya

Finally! I get to meet Mya, a beautiful brown-eyed girl, who has such a calm disposition. I have become friends with her parents for a few years and was so honored to photograph her!

I have to laugh because this Blog won't allow me to post the amount of pictures I wanted of her..LOL! So here you go Krys--- who I know is anxiously waiting.... and rightfully so;-)

What a cutie!

Lilah is such a cutie pie! I have to say.. she is the first very "serious" baby I've met in a very long time :-) Although very content (she hardly cried at all!), she was probably baffled by all of us trying to get her to smile (not even her favorite duckie could do it!) But Mommy and Daddy were able to bring a smile to her face (above is just one photo)... and she was just a pleasure to photograph!
NOTE: I should probably also mention this on my website too-- gift certificates are offered (if you are unsure what to give as a gift for a baby shower, wedding, etc.) for on-site photography sessions (such as this one!). It can be a really neat gift to give that truly lasts a lifetime!

It's all about the details...

Congratulations Alisha & Derek!
It's amazing how well you can know about a person simply by sending them an excel spreadsheet. I sent Alisha a spreadsheet to help me understand her wedding timeline, and she sent it back to me with each and every minute planned and accounted for!! LOL!! I've never received such a detailed timeline before, and weeks in advance nonetheless!! (hmm.. Alisha, maybe you should go into wedding planning!)

Although time passed so quickly for this wedding (by the time I realized, it was already time for the main course and then cake cutting-- it FLEW by!), the details were caught (the table numbers were made with pictures of the bride and groom when they were younger, the flowers had the bridemaid's first initials on the bouquets-- such great ideas!!)

Your Identity....

Congratulations Heather & Cliff!

I'm not sure how many couples truly realize how the photographer shares their moment with the guests. When photographing, you really have to take in and live in that moment that is being experienced, so that you can quickly react (and anticipate) what will happen next.

Having said that, I was listening to the father of the bride's speech, who started off by saying the theme of his speech was about identity. When you are first born, you are given a name that identifies the person who you are. Then, you go through a series of stages that begins to give you new identities (ie: in this case, becoming a husband to Laura, and then becoming a father to Heather). So when you walk into a grocery store and introduce yourself, you may not be remembered or identified by your name, but rather, that you are "Amy's husband", or "Heather's father".

On Saturday evening, Heather's father got yet another new identity (as he placed a hat upon his head): "Father of the Bride". He spoke about how proud he was of Heather (for all of her accomplishments - including this one!), and how proud he was to welcome Cliff into the family (having yet a new identity- Cliff's Father-in-Law).

What an incredible speech! This is just so true of all of us that I had to share this.

BONUS PHOTO: The father of the bride took the photo above of me photographing his daughter's wedding (ok, they are a Nikon family but I won't hold it against them!! ;-) Thanks Bruce!

Dance, dance, DANCE!

Congratulations Lisa & Anthony!

LOL! Ok, I have to say that Lisa and Anthony are a fun couple... having said that-- Lisa is hysterical!! Holy cow girl!! She speaks her mind- bluntly! But that's what kept her guests smiling and laughing!! She has a dynamic personality and could entertain and make ANYONE feel comfortable :-) Anthony is so laid back- it's just a nice balance! This crowd stormed the dance floor with Mark the Shark dj'ing... how cool is that!?

He left a note on her car window...

Congratulations Kerry & Michael!

Kerry comes from a family with many siblings... and boy, do they like to have a lil' fun! You have to give lots of credit to her brothers singing along to Frank Sinatra in honor of their sister and brother in law!! :-) And I love how they met-- I believe they lived in the same apartment complex.. and Michael placed a note on Kerry's car window after seeing her "across the way".. and the rest is history!! :-)

It's fun to stay at the...

CONGRATULATIONS MIRTA & VICTOR!

I love a good, big family wedding! This couple was all about having a good time, and their families were kicking it out on the dance floor!! You just have to love a good party :-)

Bright sun, hot weather...

Congratulations Rita and Eddie!

They had gorgeous August weather with bright sun that was hot, hot, hot! Rita and Eddie (and family and friends) were great about taking photos :-) The Crowne Plaza in Enfield has a great area for photos (including a flower field and a neat patio!!). I love when the best man/matron of honor give toasts that are obviously meaningful-- and brings a smile (and tears) to the guests and couple :-) I'm so lucky to capture these types of moments ....

Beautiful expressions...

Congratulations Michelle & Connor!

I love my clients. I truly do. I am so fortunate to be able to capture these wonderful memories for people- including Michelle & Connor.

I admit- I love seeing pictures of couples kissing or when they are dancing-- how they just enjoy the moment. With Michelle & Connor, it was so easy to capture those moments. (As I'm typing I'm going back to their photos and uploading more for this blog.. must stop doing that... LOL!!)

Ah!! Funny moment-- when I pulled up to the reception, I noticed a fire truck in front of the building.. oh oh.. thank goodness it didn't affect their reception, and we got a couple of shots with the firetruck and the fireman!! LOL!!

Waterfront Views....

Congratulations Megan & Seth!

They had simply gorgeous weather on a Saturday. (July has been a great month for weather so far!) I had met Megan & Seth just one year ago during their engagement session-- they seriously are just a cute, fun couple! They had their engagement session right by the water... and their reception would be no different (The Hartford Jaycees Boathouse). What a great venue.... so cozy and quaint.... great views.... and, with the reception... being from NJ myself and growing up in the 80's.. I loved the music! ;-)

Here are just a quick few samples of their day-- I couldn't decide which ones to post (there's a few of Seth looking at Megan in admiration, the formal group shots at City Hall (one of my favs is looking down at them), wide angle shot of the two of them looking up in City Hall, Boathouse formals with friends by the water, the "sock" shot, oh, and Megan... I caught you somewhere you weren't suppose to be!! LOL!! No worries, it's not bad!! LOL!! -- so I just grabbed a few to post ;-)
Enjoy!

A gorgeous, gorgeous day....

Congratulations Pam & Scott!

The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA has beautiful views to the mountains- and when the ceremony is outdoors in gorgeous weather, pictures come out spectacular! Pam & Scott had beautiful July weather -- the guests were able to mingle outside in the courtyard area under the baby blue skies!! Pam & Scott were so great with taking photos "if I saw a shot!"-- yes, on this beautiful day like that it happened a few times ;-) I loved the swing at the front of the Log Cabin where we took a few beautiful (and fun) pictures!! Spot color really worked nicely on a few photos for this event since the blue skies simply stood out :-)

They shared something so beautiful...

Congratulations Carolina & Tom!

Another emotional wedding. I am in such awe how so many weddings can differ-- from the dress, to the location-- but most importantly, the meaning. This wedding had tears of happiness and sadness (I have to remember to keep some tissues with me!)

I had to show some pictures of the bride touching up her makeup-- one of the things I encourage the bride and groom to do is to live in the moment of their day. Some of the most beautiful pictures are captured by the simplest things :-) Her dress was simply gorgeous-- I couldn't resist putting in a shot of her dress flowing as she danced. I also felt a little artsy and wanted to give them a different type of portrait. I overexposed the shot and then saturated the colors to give it a more of a contrast.
