Lila

I had the pleasure to photograph Lila on a very brisk Sunday afternoon. It was 40 degrees out, but with the wind, it felt like 20!

This was Lila's 2nd session with me, and I was honored to have the opportunity to capture Lila's 18-month old moments. Mom and Dad need not apologize for natural reactions a toddler may have :-)

Lila was truly being a good sport (it was FREEZING outside!!) So we took a few photos both outside and inside (a hotel lobby, no less!)

Lila saw the camera and shyed away. No worries Mom and Dad- we captured some precious moments ;-)

Boudoir Sessions

Yes! I have ventured over to the "other side!"

Sarah & Seth

I love Sunday weddings!

Sarah and Seth were married at the Ethel Walker Chapel in Simsbury and the reception was held at The Riverview. They had gorgeous weather with big blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

I loved this couple!! They were so nice, so caring... I can't tell you how many times Sarah asked if I ate (I did- yummy!!) I took a very quick peek at their photos and wanted to post at least one today (I'm catching up these days so I'll post one.. with more to come!)

I loved this photo purely for their expression. This couple is truly in love. They make my job so easy :-)

Oh, and did I mention that both of their parents renewed their vows during the ceremony? Yep. I had to hold back from crying. (Truth be told I sniffled a little.) Talk about a room filled with emotions. It was the best ceremony I was honored to be a part of.

And now.. a quick photo (I couldn't decide- Color or Antique). So they get both :-)

Meet Hayden

Although Hayden did not have his afternoon nap that day, you couldn't even tell.
He truly was one of the most happy, content babies (only 9 months old!) that I have ever photographed! Did I mention he's a cutie too?

Meghan & Bill

I admit, I'm a little tired from staying up late last night after a big party... ;-) BUT- I must continue to blog. I'll just keep this simple and sweet ;-)

Meghan and Bill married at Holy Cross in Holyoke, MA followed by a gorgeous fall reception at the Garden House (Look Park), in Florence, MA. Rich, bold autumn colors set the cozy tone for this reception. Congratulations!!

Mya

I had the pleasure of photographing the daughter of a friend of mine, who's just a little over a year old. Time flies by! I remember photographing her as a baby... and now here she is, walking, running, has a job (apparently she's the CEO of the household ;-) She's really just a beautiful little girl, and I'm so thrilled to have the honor of capturing her moments (oh, ok.. thanks to Mya's mom and dad ;-)

Here's a sneak peek of her photos... I had gotten a great "sequence" of Mya just being herself. This technique is something I enjoy doing-- as it captures little ones in many different facial expressions :-)

TIP: Putting a sequence of photos together with different expressions (below) makes for a great gift! (Or of course a great framed photo for your family room :-)

When I sent out an email stating I was photographing a limited amount of sessions for charity, they all stepped up to the plate. By the next day, I had 99% of my slots filled :-) It took just a few days later to fill 100% of the spots.

You really do rock.

We spent a course of 2-days, photographing sessions with 100% of the proceeds going to ASCONN, a Connecticut-based charity who provides resources and support to those on the Autism spectrum.

Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. (Source: www.autismspeaks.org)

It's one of the fastest growing diagnoses, and yet many insurance companies limit or provide no coverage to families for treatment. Until now. Beginning in January, 2009, insurance companies are mandated to provide occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy to those who are diagnosed on the spectrum.

Thank god.

My clients rock because they are giving back to the community, and helping families in need.
I've had clients donate even though they weren't going to have a photo session. They simply wanted to give. (Did I mention my clients rock?)

Melissa & Rob

It was a Friday afternoon wedding at the Bushnell- and the light... wow.. all the natural lighting:-) Meg (yes, Miss Creative Collection herself!) helped me with this wedding (thank you so much!!)... and we were drooling over the lighting! Seriously, we were like two kids in a candy store.

Melissa and Rob had a tremendously fabulous weather day-- and had much time for "formal" photos in between their ceremony and reception. The reception was held at the oh-so-sheek The Gershon Fox Room in Hartford-- and there again, the lighting inside was faboo! (Literally the lights in the Gershon were photo-worthy ;-)

I quickly glanced at the photos and picked out a few favs ;-)
Can you tell I went straight for the formals? LOL!

While I was taking photos on stage, Meg grabbed this opportunity to use a gorgeous window.. this was my take on it. Can't wait to see Meg's!!
We took some photos in one of the other theaters.. and although lighting was less than steller.. a few of the close-ups were timeless! There's something about this photo that struck me....

Tori & Nara

I love exploring new places to shoot! Renbrook school, located in West Hartford, is a perfect (but private) location to shoot :-) I had the pleasure to meet Tori & Nara (such beautiful girls) to do a photoshoot.

Samantha & Ron

It was a very busy weekend in September, and yet I was so excited to go to New Jersey to photograph this wedding. I've known Samantha for a while through family, and not only is she so super sweet- she's gorgeous. She has such a great spirit about her (as you can see how she "rolls with the punches" with her laughter), and meeting her (now) husband Ron, I can see why they are truly perfect for one another.

I had such a difficult time selecting photos - I had to keep narrowing them down. So here are just a few as a sneak preview ;-)

I think during this shot there was a bee or a bug on Samantha's veil, and they were trying to get it out. Again, Samantha was such a good sport!

I wanted to post this shot because it was one of those "I just placed the camera on the floor and clicked".. that was it! I enjoy trying these shots if there's a moment.
