The BIG Apple Rocks!!

So I went into the City to get me some of them "wizards"(and to look at other gadgets)-- my hubby would like to thank Meg and Jake for that one (our bank account is slowly depleting! LOL!!)

Of course I had to bring the Canon with me and just take some shots... there was a slight overcast, a light breeze... I felt SO free! I LOVED IT!
This poor unsuspecting soul (at B & H) didn't realize he'd make my blog!

Neither did he...

Oh how I wish this could be my form of transportation!! LOL!!

Go! Go! Go!!

I just love the signs that make me say-- "yeah.. right"....

And the Lion ROARED in...

It's March and wedding season has officially begun!!

I had the honor of photographing a family friend in New Jersey, along with the assistance from Jake and Travis (who rocked this wedding!!)

I know they say rain is good luck for a wedding.. in this case, this couple has enough luck to last a lifetime!! :-) Nicole and Frank were great... their spirits were high and they looked absolutely terrific. I had the pleasure of being with Nicole throughout the day (getting ready w/hair, makeup and putting on her dress). Jake captured the moments with the guys-- and Travis was at the church waiting for all of us to come charging in!

Yes, the rain poured in... but it made for some really neat photos throughout the day, at the beautiful Skyland Manor in Ringwood, New Jersey. To make the night more adventurous.. the electricity went out. Yep, throughout the whole night! The reception was lit by candlelight. That's it. For the photographers out there, you know that low lighting makes for interesting, photojournalistic photos-- it's one of the most challenging environments we face. Lucky for me, I had Jake and Travis to help capture those moments- and they got some beauties!

I quickly scanned through my photos to post a few... here are just a few of my favorites.. enjoy!!

The room that Nicole had gotten ready in was gorgeous. Beautiful natural lighting. I could capture her dress in many angles!

There is actually a whole series of shots of Nicole coming down the stairs.. this was her about to go into the limo.

This was the lighting we had to work with.. I did not edit this shot at all :-)

The great photo challenge...

Happy March everyone.. wow... it's wedding season again!!

So I met with a few photographers and those who love photography at Meg's house yesterday (check out our luncheon photos), and had SUCH a great time! They truly inspired me - so I am blogging again.

Meg's going to post a challenge I've presented to her and the photographers out there... here it is....
The Challenge Name: Getting to know the REAL you
Description: Showing photos that best describe your household (and its members) as it is NOW.
Rules:
-1 photo should be taken in each room of the house (ok, maybe we only need 1 bathroom shot ;-)
-No moving around things to get a "good shot"
-Photos should be rated PG-13 (just in case :-)
-When finished, post link to Meg's Blog

So here are my photos (used my 60mm, shot in Manual Mode, 2.8, 1/125) Only editing done- conversion to black and white (and I think I highlighted a couple of photos, but that's about it! No color correcting done.)

Bathroom
(Yes, with all males in the house, I have officially lost the toilet seat war).
This is the E-L-M-O that also lives with us (he comes in many forms)!
You'll notice lots of trucks and "manly" stuff around the house.

Umm... my next car, perhaps?? LOL!!
OK. You really can't see but the pig actually has a suction cup on the back-- this is on a door in the kitchen.

Look who I found in the living room!

And in his crib...
Mean face, mommy!
OK. Happy again!
In my (temporary) office...
In our bedroom.. yep, our wedding day. Love this photo because my husband was eating AFTER our reception. Nice...

In one of my sons' rooms... from the Jersey Shore with Grandma...
OK. This is bad. I have photos but yet to put one in. (Bad Mommy)

I came back downstairs to find... back in the Living Room..... hubby and feet!

Jacob & Jeter = Best Buds

Jacob was such a great model! (And the same goes for our four-legged HUGE friend, Jeter :-)
